Ferrovial Services is working with the Asociación Madrileña de Ayuda a la Infancia (AMAIF), a Madrid-based association for aid directed at children, on comprehensive updates for a computer lab in a school in Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries in the world. This initiative, carried out at a school in the Oula region – some 200 kilometers from the capital, Ouagadougou – is helping foster innovative, creative, and dynamic education in rural areas, providing students and teachers with basic tools for the educational development.
"We are very satisfied to be working with Ferrovial Services. Currently, there is no computer infrastructure in the Oula school. The computer science course is taught on a blackboard. Thanks to this project, the school's more than 250 students will have a basic communication tool for development, equipping teachers and students with up-to-date technologies that can boost their development."
For the project’s sustainability, private classes will also be held three days a week for students from other primary and secondary schools in the area at affordable prices. Oula’s rural public school is located in the northern region, 270 kilometers from the capital, Ouagadougou. The Asociación Madrileña de Ayuda a la Infancia AMAIF is a humanitarian association whose objective is carrying out specific projects that improve living conditions for children and their families in underdeveloped or developing countries.
