Ferrovial Serviços is in charge of many key services for Portuguese society, such as waste collection and treatment, maintenance for public spaces, and offering public administrations energy efficiency solutions.
The company is continuing to serve the Portuguese health system, a sector that has been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. As such, Ferrovial Serviços is on the front lines of the fight against coronavirus.
Every day, 350 employees from Ferrovial Serviços perform tasks for the cleanliness, hygiene, and disinfection of three public hospitals: IPO Lisboa, Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Ocidental and Hospital Distrital de Santarém, These centers have about 1,500 beds in total.
In addition, Ferrovial Serviços is working closely with health authorities at field hospitals set up in the Centro de Congressos do Estoril and the CERCICA de Sao Domingos de Rana (Lisbon District), carrying out cleaning and disinfection. These two new hospitals are operating as triage centers for positive cases, making them the point of contact between patients with symptoms and the healthcare system, a key link in the fight against the pandemic.
The commitment shown by all of Ferrovial Serviços’ workers in Portugal is essential to helping the country get through the pandemic without its critical services being affected. The company is proud of this commitment and this effort.
